It finally happened, the day of devastation and destruction. We lost the bean. In case you don't know what "bean" is, here is a picture of how Indy sleeps, lives, and functions:Okay, so Indy looks demented in this picture. But that is nothing to how he looks when he's at Wal-Mart, climbing out of the pathetic single-strap grocery cart and throwing cheezits on the ground because I ate one while he's screaming at the top of his lungs. That yucky blue blanket above, that's the only thing that can stop one of those tantrums.
At bedtime, we realized bean was gone. We searched the house, tearing open closets and cupboards trying to find it, while I'm cursing under my breath about not having cut the stupid thing in half and hiding it for times like this. Then we realize: maybe it's at the church! So I run over to the church, in my jammies and without shoes, but no luck. I call the nursery leader and get the keys to the nursery closet. Ben searched every toy box in the nursery (looking in the dolls and dress-ups first since they are cloth) but found it in with the trucks. My hero!
We made coldstone (that's right Liz, I have a personal coldstone set at home) with peanut-butter and chocolate fudge to celebrate.

Hey amigo. como vai. estou muito bem. e muito bon para ver voce ainda esta vivo. ainda esta en Rexburg.
HOly cow you went to great lengths to get that blankie back. You are way nicer than us...
Believe me - from a grandmother's point of view - you DO NOT want to lose Bean. It's not pretty! I have cute grandkids, don't I?
*gasp!* No way! Didn't you guys have a little back-up piece of mini-bean??
Either way, I hop you find it--I know he can't live without it!
Oh, nevermind--You DID find it--hallalujah! :)
So Indy still has his Bean (whew!) Did this teach you to get him UN-hooked on that thing? (Probably not, since you CELEBRATED with ice cream!) I know, I know - you got a much QUIETER night out of it! :) Can't believe Jennilyn ran down to the church in her jammies (only in Rexburg, or somewhere in Utah, would THAT be "acceptable" behaviour...)
What? You can get home Cold Stone kits? WHERE? WHERE????
Now I'm throwing a tantrum!
And I am laughing hysterically at the thought of you and Ben in such a panic over a little blankie. Hee hee. Ha ha ha ha. Mwahahaha.
Oh, and can I just say how homesick that pic of Ben makes me? No, silly, not for Ben. Look at that gorgeous sky behind him. I don't get that here... ever.
yeah, you did go to great lengths to get bean back..congrats i guess..but it was a great time to wean him from bean..he,he..i guess he'll have fun taking it to college with him. ben's parents held a ceremony where they buried sara's bottles in the yard when she was like 3! have fun and maybe if you plan to keep bean around you should cut it and make it smaller and give yourselves a backup!
Haha - that is hilarious. But great job finding it. I hope that the marathon is coming along for Ben. Goodluck!
I'm so glad you found it!! We've gone through the missing lovies as well - we know now that with each subsequent child, we will buy 3 exact duplicates!!
